Phulchowki is the highest point on the Kathmandu Valley rim at 2,782m, rising above Godavari on the south-eastern side. The climb passes through some of the best-preserved broadleaf forest anywhere near the capital.
It is well known among birdwatchers, with several hundred species recorded on the hill, and the summit gives a full circle of the valley below and the Himalaya beyond.
