Chitwan Jungle Safari – 3 Days

Arrive at your lodge in Sauraha by tourist bus or private vehicle and check in over lunch.

An afternoon walk through a Tharu village to learn about the indigenous culture of the Terai, followed by sunset over the Rapti river.

In the evening, a Tharu stick dance programme and a briefing on the next day's safari. Overnight at the lodge.

An early canoe trip along the Rapti river, the best time for gharial and mugger crocodiles, kingfishers and other waterbirds.

A guided jungle walk with a naturalist follows, then breakfast at the lodge.

The afternoon is given to a jeep safari deep into the park, where rhino sightings are common and tiger, sloth bear and wild elephant are possible.

Return at dusk. Overnight at the lodge.

An early birdwatching walk with your naturalist, particularly rewarding in the winter months when migratory species are present.

After breakfast, transfer to the bus park or airport for your onward journey to Kathmandu or Pokhara.
