Located at south east of Kathmandu offering romantic views and home to different species of birds and animals, Phulchowki Hike is a very popular among the people traveling to Nepal. Phulchowki is visited mostly when the snow fall occurs in Winter Season.
Phulchowki has a botanical garden and is famous for bird watching. About 14 kilometers drive from Kathmandu valley, Phulchowki is for the people who likes to trek but are short in time at Kathmandu.
The walking/trekking course is easy and full of beautiful scenic view of Annapurna range to Gaurishankar Range. Phulchowki hill is covered by dense Rhododendron of white and red colors. Because of the rich vegetation, different species of birds and butterflies are found in the area.
People with the interest in botany can trek which will be helpful to gather lots of information and research about the floras found at the hiking area.
Phulchowki hill is surrounded by the dense forest of different plants including Rhododendron of different colors, including pure white and dark red. Because of this beautiful and dense forest, different species of birds and butterflies can be found. During your hike, you can see different kinds of birds such as Rufous-gorgeted, Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Niltava, Yellow-browed Tit, Chestnut-headed Tesia, Red-billed Leiothrix, Whiskered Yuhina, Besra, Bronzed and Racket-tailed Drongos, Greater Yellow nape, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Nepal Cutia, Ultramarine Flycatcher, and Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike.
